Where Did the Day Go?

Believe it or not, but it is now 3:15 am, and I am just finishing up a marathon work session, having just wrapped up a long memo on a patent license dispute.

Started writing this thing at about 2:00pm, so it was a (more or less) steady 12 hours of writing, if you take out my dinner break. Let’s see what sort of feedback I get tomorrow morning.

Needless to say, there was no blogging today. If I get lucky, and that pesky memo requires only a couple hours of revisions in the morning, I may finally find some time to catch up.

Famous last words, I know. Well, at least the weekend is coming up, so we all have that going for us, which is nice.

My schedule over the last couple of weeks has been a bit of a bummer, I have to say. Not only have there been a gazillion stories out there on trade issues, but we have the National Day-palooza celebration coming up in a couple weeks (I hear some of the roads will be blocked tomorrow afternoon and some subway stations closed to facilitate a big rehearsal), there was a knife-wielding lunatic running around Qianmen today (a couple dead, something like 12 wounded), and the default rate on Chinese credit cards has been steadily rising.

Too much to write about and so little time for sleep!

On the bright side, I know even more than I did 24 hours ago about PRC Patent Law as it relates to tech transfer licenses and patent invalidation procedures. I actually ran into several “first instance” issues for me, which is actually quite useful, since this is my supposed area of expertise. Gotta keep up to date on this stuff, you know.

Anyway, sleepy time.
