Spy ships, including Chinese spy ships, gathering data all over the world is an everyday even. It gets dicey when it is done in disputed waters. The US Naval vessel is probably in one of the disputed areas in South China Sea where half a dozen people claiming sovereignty, and no one recognize anybody else's claim. Chinese didn't show their flags before because it is just useless. But now, with a new president, Chinese need to know whether Obama will just say sorry and leave.
