While I usually do not hesitate to mix non-China posts in with the usual stuff on occasion, I do not like to make a habit of it. During the run-up to the 2004 election, I did not post all that much on U.S. politics except when China came up as an issue.

This time might be different, for the following reasons: 1) this election is going to be really interesting; 2) there will be at least one candidate that I really dislike, possibly two; 3) people keep asking me for my opinion on the race; and 4) the race will definitely be between a badass lawyer running against a military type – can’t resist that dynamic.

Oh yeah, there will also be the usual stupid policy debate over China trade, the "China Threat", currency, etc.
