China Emulating Big British Brother?

The police have installed 2.75 million surveillance cameras since 2003 and are expanding the system into the countryside, the Public Security Ministry said Monday on its Web site. The cameras are the most visible part of police surveillance and notification systems around the country, mainly in urban areas. There are about 265,000 such cameras in Beijing, the official Xinhua news agency reported. (New York Times)

I’m already kind of bummed out because Beijing has become so expensive in the past few years. Now security cameras everywhere?

If I wanted to live in London, I would have learned how to speak real English.
