Apathy in Action

Things I don’t give a #^*& about (pardon my grammar):

1. Who carries the Olympic torch in Beijing. A breathtakingly boring waste of time even discussing it. But how about those shameless self-promoters out there? God love ‘em.

2. Jim Carrey being upset about Myanmar (yes, I use “Myanmar“). I went to graduate school for an IR degree so I can see Jim Carrey on CNN talking about foreign policy? I should have stayed in LA.

[BTW, if anyone is truly interested in the China connection with Myanmar, read this post on the Foreign Policy blog - good reality check.]

3. Whether the stock market has hit another record high. Let’s all agree that it’s too damn high and leave it at that, hmm? I understand that lazy financial reporters need to find a hook for their stock market stories, but this stuff got old a long time ago.

4. Continued speculation about the CCTV tower, what it’s supposed to look like, when it will be finished, etc. New rule: unless you have some solid evidence to back up that rumor, give it a rest.

5. Any textile trade deal. International “free” trade in this area has been a sham since 1978. Only thing worse is the CAP.

  1. Two things I give a @#$%^& about:

    1) Correct formatting of HTML in blogs. Use align=left on those images so they better line-up and the text wraps.

    2) Correct formatting of HTML in blogs. Use align=left on those images so they better line-up and the text wraps.
